This resistor tricks the transmission into supplying a little extra pressure (the springs you just changed out are made to work with this). The final step is to solder or otherwise splice a resistor they include between two wires on the line pressure sensor. put the pan back on, fill with fluid and re-attach the servo connector. Put it back together with the new accumulator plate they provide, slap the valve body back in the trans along with a new filter. Note that the little circlips go into the groove before the new seal. Replace a couple of seals on the little pistons which easily come out of the bore. Pull the accumulator plate off of the valve body (couple of torx screws) and then replace a couple of springs behind the plate (instructions have a picture which makes it obvious what to do). The kit have a few different settings for 'standard, heavy and heavier duty. if i remember right the transgo kits had alittle more stuff and went deeper in the trans.or valve body. and all items needed for both were included. Undo the connector for the servo on the outside of the trans, then 6 8mm bolts on the valve body itself and it drops right out. i installed a b&m shift kit in an older camaro years ago. Maybe took me an extra hour with the fluid change.

Sounds to me like you need to adjust your TV cable. Besides, you would require a different shift kit than the one this post is for. Will the shift kit fix this stupid shifting. It does what it advertises (shifts quicker, smoother) was inexpensive and a pretty easy install. New 45RFE/5-45RFE TransGo shift kit review. Also, if you need to know more about how the kickdown works go to the tranny forum and ask.I put a transgo shift kit - specifically the HD2 kit in my WJ when I changed the fluid and filter recently.

As far as not being able to adjust it I never heard that before, it should not be hooked up at full throttle, perhaps at 1/2 throttle. The trans will not be harmed by not hooking it up but your rapid shifting will disappear if you do. you need to reconnect the kickdown lever. 1992 Toyota Celica GT (not fast, or furious)Listen, it's very simple.

I avoided the whole situation on my C6 with a Hipster full manual reverse valve body. So you've got two options, as driving your car around with no kickdown hooked up will eventually destroy your trans. No, you can't find a "middle point" to set it, either.

(Yes, I have been through this same dilemma, and yes, it sucks.) On the other side of things, if you rig it at the "wide open throttle" position, you will shift at 5500 in every gear, all the time. I just built a tranny for a friend of mine and used one of their SKs. They invented the concept and still have a very good product. This is what is causing your rapid fire 123 shifting. rjent said: I installed transgo SKs for years. The lever is springloaded, and is designed to return to a "closed throttle" position if disconnected. Well, you really have to hook that up if you want your trans to shift right. 1992 Toyota Celica GT (not fast, or furious) I think C6 is the same way, so maybe drop the pan and check to make sure the little shaft rotates when you move the kickdown rod. I don't remember how it is on a C6, but on a Cruise-O when you drop the valve body, you have to disconnect the kickdown shaft. ? thanksIf your kickdown rod is not adjusted properly (or connected at all) it will cause a very fast "123" shift pattern when left in D.Ĭheck where the arm bolts to the lever on the trans, make sure the arm is actually turning the lever when the throttle is actuated. any ideas on how best to diag the problem. I'm wondering if I did something wrong in the valve body or if the govenor is bad. I've tried adjusting the modulator and it does hold vacume. however if I leave it in drive the trans shifts way too soon. anyhow I have a ratchet shifter so it's easy to shift when ever I want. I had the trans rebuilt and I installed a shift kit so I can't narrow the problem down to the shift kit but I've messed things up before.
